I have bleeder bolt in my rear brake caliper that's broken off more or
less flush with the caliper. I scraped the rust off, sprayed some
lube on it, and hammered a screw extractor into it. Gave the
extractor a turn, and now I have a broken bleeder bolt with a broken
extractor in it.
Any hints about removing the bolt? Since the bleeder bolt is hollow,
maybe the extractor is pushing it out and making it bind more? It was
broken by a PO, don't know how long it has been seized. I was trying
to remove it on the bike, in the shed at about 55 degrees F, might
this be easier at room temperature or warmer?
If I end up having to drill the bleeder bolt out, can this be tapped
to a larger size and replaced with another hollow bolt? The original
is just a hollow bolt that blocks the output when it's bottomed out,
right? Does anyone have the dimensions of the original bolt?
