Do I have the correct base gasket?
« on: November 25, 2006, 01:34:10 pm »
Was having some work done on my cb500 this week.  Took the head into the Honda dealership to put in new valve seals.  Anyway, I thought I'd try the base gasket on and see how it fits.  It looks as if the gaset is too big in some areas and doesn't cover the entire surface in others.  Can somebody tell me if the complete gasket kit I purchased has the wrong base gasket in it?  Attached photos!

Thanks!
Brian

Looks OK to me. make sure those "O" rings round the oil jets are new and that the jet are clear PLUS no gasket debris went down the holes
