Yes, believe it or not I started my love of Hondas with a 70cc three wheeler my dad bought my brother and I. After several years and growing out of that he bought us an 83 200x. It was a great way to learn how to use a clutch and ride even though it had three wheels.
After moving out and joining the Air Force I finally bought a real motorcycle even though it ended up being a 89 600 Suzuki Katana. My love for Suzukis grew pretty deep at the time but still always had a desire to find a Honda. A 900rr would have done the trick but never came to be.
This spring I was browsing craigslist and ran across a little CB550k that was just begging for attention. I couldn't pass it up and brought it home with me. After going through the carbs, changing oil and checking everything out I had her running in no time.
The plan was to lose the ape hangers, swap the forks for some usd's and ride her until the weather got cold when I could start the rebuild. I couldn't wait and dove in farther than I planned. A few months later and I'm almost finished. Pushing to get her done for a memorial ride the end of this month. Crossing my fingers as it's going to be tight
First day home.
Almost there.
