Where does this O-Ring go on my Keihin carb?
« on: November 25, 2006, 04:50:57 pm »

Started rebuilding the carbs today.

One at a time to avoid confusion.

I got everything back together but had this o-ring left over out of my rebuild kit.

Any ideas where this goes? Does anybody have any pics.

I have searched the forums but haven't been able to find a topic on this one.

Thanks in advance,

Johnny

What year/model bike is it?
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

They are from my CB750.

The bike is from a lot of years. 72 UK frame. 77 Rear end and a 74 front with a 78 motor.

I believe they are '75 carbs.

They are marked with a 7AII

To be clear, the rest of the parts in the kit looked good. They all matched the old parts. Just shinier.

I didn't see this o-ring when I took apart the carb and have checked the other carbs to see if I can find it but no luck.

Thanks.

I just got done cleaning my carbs and almost lost a tiny o-ring that goes in float bowl #2 for where the accelerator pump goes.

Air/fuel mixture screw? C'mon, give us a hint as to what size o-ring you're talking about.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

A picture with something for scale would be nice...

That is what happens when you post after the obligatory Saturday Night Margarita.

I thought I had already put this up.

OK... idle air screw o- ring...

Maiking progress.

Thanks KGhost. I probably should have given you a call first.

So if I am understanding this right, the idle screw is the one with the spring?

If the carbs are '75 (k5), see if the o ring matches the one for the float bowl drain screw.

You might be right, jsaab2748.

Kghost and I kicked that around. I have a aluminum crush washer there on the four carbs that are on this rack.

We have been banging our heads on the workbench on this one...

I didn't see it when I took them apart. Kghost is going to check on some of his CBs later.

I will sleep on it. I do my best thinkin' when I am in the sack.
