CB750 clutch cable question - superbike bars
« on: August 14, 2016, 09:48:23 AM »
Was there an OEM clutch cable (the kind with an inner sleeve) part # that would work on a bike with the shorter superbike bars (european version, maybe?)?

Bike is a '72 CB750.

I have used stock cables on 550's and 750's with superbike bars.  Careful and several tries with the tank on and off before I got it sorted.  If I had the stock cable in good condition, I spend the time to try to route it to work.

Yes, the Euro version is shorter to accommodate the lower bars on Euro models, David Silver Spares , CMSNL or Yamiya should have them.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

I have a 72 CB750 with stock Euro bars (the K1 euro bars from DSS) and I use OEM K2 clutch cable - didnt specify Euro cable so prob USA spec. No issues. Very good bars with nice riding position.

I have also used superbike bars on my K4 with stock cables no issues.

good luck
Andy
