Question about 550K0 breather tube
« on: August 17, 2016, 05:49:20 AM »
I'm getting ready to start a build (my first) on a '74 550 K0 that I bought in pieces.  In reading a lot of the threads on 550s I'm wondering what should be done about the breather tube coming off the top of the head when you run pods or some other type of non-stock air filter system.  In most pics I don't see any tube coming off the breather cover on any bike with pods or velocity stacks.  So how are they venting?  Does this cause any issues?   I'm going with K&N pods.

Thanks

I went to Advance Auto and picked up a small breather filter and put it on there. Only thing with that is that it'll get saturated with oil and occasionally drip. Not an issue in my mind.

Do not seal it off.

Thanks Dave.  Enjoyed your thread and love the way your bike turned out.  Would you mind posting a pic of your solution?  Thanks!
