Cam chain tensioner stuck?
« on: August 19, 2016, 07:44:38 PM »
Seems to be held up at the bottom, can't get her out after removing the lock nut. I can see down by the chain, it looks like a slider of some sort, but really the chain is stopping me at the bottom of the tensioner from removing it because I can't pull back far enough to get the bolt to clear the case...

Thanks in advance!

Iirc - when i yanked the tensioner out of my parts motor, I had to manually squeeze the bow inwards, effectively collapsing it on itself.  Then I was able to lean it forward.

Can't remember if I did this before or after breaking the cylinder jugs free of the lower case.

Yeah I actually just got it freed, I took the bow out and spring then realized the borrom of the tensioner was getting caught under that sprocket down there stopping me from pulling out so all I did was add some force until the bolt had cleared the case then rotated the motor and the chain it's self popped the tensioner out for me.

That's pretty much how it was, but yeah just rotate the motor basically if it's stopped by the chain/the sprocket down there.
