Have a chance.
« on: October 21, 2016, 12:23:34 PM »
I have a chance on a 1987 Honda Pacific Coast with 35,000 miles. What are some of the faults of these bikes if any. Thanks for help.

Bob, I have a 1998.  It is extremely quiet as 754 stated and does have enough plastic to make several scooters.  Mine has 66k on it and the only problem is the front end needs to be rebuilt.  Starts every time(I did have to replace the rectifier once) and runs smooth as can be.  The low seat height is good for the vertically challenged, storage space is awesome, adequate power for an 800cc twin, handles fairly well.  Only negative , and it is very minor, is it seems to wear front tires quickly.  I've had both Metzlers and Dunlops, either got 5 to 6k at most.  Mine is for sale as I bought a Concours.  How much is the seller asking?  And there is a fairly large cult following for the PC...Larry

He was leaning toward $2,000, but was willing to dicker lower. It's white, and was ridden by an older gentleman. I don't think it was abused. Has been sitting for a period of time, so would need the normal stuff to get it ready for the road. Would offering $1,200 be an insult considering the start-up costs?

A quick Google search, as I'd never heard of one before, shows they were made from 89-98. Are you sure of the year model of this one?

He is right but I am selling it due to the purchase of a Concours.  1200 is reasonable.  I'd sell mine for that or less if you're close to eastern PA...Larry
