Buddy gets a Hippy Van...Kewl...Mopar..
« on: August 22, 2016, 09:14:12 PM »
He has been lusting after one of these for years..
Sees one for sale..calls up..missed it by an hour. It was in a town 40 miles away..
Driving home one day just after that , he spots it in a yard. On the way to his house.
Makes a deal , lands it..
 I had a ride in it..pretty cool..

I seem to recall my brother in law had one like that, but newer.

Good old days...Nothing protecting you in the front but a piece of glass and some thin sheet metal.  Had a 75 B-100 Dodge van. Loved it.  Great find.

I had a '69 Econoline back in the mid '80's. Three-on-tree. Replaced the 140ci! 6 with a 302 V8.
Good times....

We had one about that same time when I was at the junior college. My dad was a ninja at finding things like these. I used to drive it to school now and then. Loud and slow, but somehow still cool. My buddies loved it.

When I was about three or four, my parents were friends with the Smith's (real last name) and they had about five kids.  The father worked for National Cash Register as some kind of tech or engineer.  That is what they drove, even the same color.  Mr. Smith smoked a pipe. Their kids were all teenagers and to a little kid like me, they were the coolest!  Thanks for posting, brings back good memories!!!

Back in the day, a dude I knew had one and put a V8 in with a 4 speed. Except the shift pattern was backwards.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

I grew up in one of those. The 318 gets 10 miles per gallon whether in the city, 70 on the hiway, or towing a trailer.

My brother got it after my Dad got a new van. Did countless camping trips in it.

One of the best features is you can cook on the manifold, while driving down the road. We would wrap potatoes in foil and they would be done by the time we arrived at a destination.
