I won't be able to make the 4200KM one way trip. :( Also new baby coming in March!

Have fun!

Lisa, you might consider taking the northern route west at that time of year, avoiding the heat crossing the Mojave and possible monsoon activity in AZ. Perhaps you could rendezvous with Greg and Frank along their way from the North West?

Scott: I'm not afraid of any stinking desert or the winds of a monsoon! ha ha.  I will of course take all opinions into consideration.  I have to remind myself that I was the brilliant one that last year decided riding in March from CA>AZ>NM>CO>AZ was a wise choice.  I literally rode through heat, wind, snow, icy rain, a bit of hail, cold, then sun.  Not my finest moment but Dash and I survived.  I am so looking forward to this FIRST reunion.  Watch, it is going to turn into a thing...I predict.

We're all but solidified on this - France may have to wait until next year.

Mooshie (I can't call you Lisa, we've barely spoken :) ), we're headed over out of North Orange County.  We'll probably end up going the southern route - I 40 at least through AZ and then ENE out of Flagstaff or straight N out of Gallup. If you end up going that route it'd be great to meet up and have a partner on the ride out.

We'll chat more later.

Frank, looks like you might be close to Bonneville again on your way home ;)  Not sure if Dennis will be competing this year?

Godzilla v1.0 and I are about 325 miles east of Durango and can offer up a place to stay for anyone heading close by. Good night sleep then an even better day's ride into Durango. This is if I'm at home at that time.

Absolutely.  Once we see who all is going from the CA/West contingent we can look at routes. I am open to almost any route.  I have done the ride through CO a lot so its not like I have to hit certain roads.  Through I do want to stop at the IT Store (ha ha)

The ride back from W to East would be good Mooshie...having some one to ride with and keep pace with...

If you wanted to go across TN on I40 you could hit the Smokies and Tail of the Dragon.  If you come by the Bristol TN/VA area you will have to visit Ridgewood BBQ over towards Elizabethton for some smoked pork bbq or brisket, etc., delicious stuff...well worth the side trip.  Also, have to try Cherrwine cola, limited area of availability and I know friends who moved to Delaware OH to work for JEG's speed shop and every trip home they have to take multiple cases back home for themselves and their coworkers who love the stuff since introduced to it. Everytime the Jeg's team comes to Bristol to race they hit Ridgewood and their coolers have more Cherrwine than beer.

Lots of Moonshine being brewed legally and distributed from this region as well if you like that sort of thing.

Knoxville and the Smokies are a few hours from Bristol and the Asheville, NC area... the Cherohala Highway a good road to ride too... The region has lots of great curvy mountain roads and beautiful views.  Higher altitudes being more pleasant than the humid valleys.  August being our hottest month typically and it is normally not lacking for humidity or showers unless like this year.

I am looking at a bit over 1711 miles one way... going to take a few ling days in the saddle, granted the bike and back cooperate.

Typo on Cheerwine...they have partnered with lots of other distributors in recent years and the availability is much broader, reaching to Wesern GA and Florida as well as at Cracker Barrel restuarants... and a place in Canton Ohio called Old Carolina Barbeque.

BTW, BBQ here generally refers to the slow cooked meats with various barbeque sauces....  in Texas it is what we call grilling...much of California refers to it as BBQ as well.  The grill is still referred to as a BBQ grill, unless it is a smoker.

3 days at 600 miles might be an extreme push... but, that would be two night on the road given it is slab miles there...

Danny, give us an idea what the cabin/hotel/camping costs would be...
Definitely would want a good bed after a long trip at least one night.

David:
A side trip to TN as I crawl my way to NJ definitely sounds like an option (the only reason though would be for the moonshine!)  ;)
I am going to start looking at routes East so will add those ideas
