I'm near Mt Rushmore, there are over1200 new miles on the old wing but I have an increasing bearing noise. It goes with rpm not speed I'm assuming its in the transmission. In that light I'm going by the Rapids City Honda shop this am. Unless they have an easy fix I'm probably looking at a leisurely ride back home 900 miles rather than the 2,000 more I had planned. I'll check back when I know more.

Good luck. I've found that a nice set of earbuds is very effective at reducing troublesome noises. Hope ya can still make it.

Lovely Needles CA. I put 3 weeks worth of work on my bike today. Held up well. Bike's excited as hell actually. FINALLY! He says. Pics later. Also, I am reminded of how much time I Do NOT spend in the desert.

I hope you can make it.  Frank...don't understand that your bike was running, clock going in reverse or is my memory slipping?  Likely the later of course.

But there was s change of plan. Nonetheless, 29 palms and then Needles after a hell junket thru the Mojave. Some before and after as well as the last piece of shade in the desert.

Good luck gentlemen, I'm picturing you guys riding. Have a safe trip everyone. I got my 78SS bike banging on all four today for the first time since I owned it. I had to do some soldering to the floats, I read Hondaman said it could be done, and I did it. I'm very happy tonight.

I think I got it , reused one gasket and nay have forgot to tighten. 1080 spotted that.
Just took it 5 miles, looks good. Not going to get everything done on the bike, but it looks like it will do the ride. Will try to leave in the morning. Be a fun ride I hope. .
