Matt, did you also bring a set of stock coils? I'm not sure if the power arc coils will play nice with points.
Yeah but now I have no power to the 2/3 coil. The yellow wire from the wiring harness has no power. I assume it should?

Could this be a connection that would normally be made inside the headlight? I bundled everything up when I put the fairing on and it may not have been an issue with the powerarc.
So much to do, so little time.

Power to both coils is through the black/white wire. The blue and yellow wires will show voltage when the points are open, and no voltage when the points are closed.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Then I'm guessing I've got a bad coil. I bought a used pair from a member here that were billed as good but only one was. That's the one that's bad now. Oh well. Anyone got a spare coil or two they can bring to Dolores for me? I'm gonna just button it up and try to limp in on two cylinders, I guess.

Never mind. I guess it helps if you actually connect the power cable to BOTH the coils. The power Arc only had one so I overlooked it putting stock coils back on. Oh well. A quick stop in at the Big Rig Dollhouse Gentleman's Club here and I'll be back on the road in no time.

Actually a spare points plate would be good if someone's got a spare. Mine works but I dumped the bike a few days ago and just noticed I deformed the bottom cylindrical doohickey. My fancy Joker Machine Company points cover won't fit back on and I don't want to take a hammer to it at this point.

Bike loaded with way too much stuff!  Figured since I was travelling the shortest distance, I would pack everything needed to be comfy...headed out early tomorrow morning.

I've already loaded a spare points plate w/points and condensers, a pair of coils, and a timing light. If you can make it to Flag, I can meet you there sometime tomorrow morning.

Damn Frank, that's hard core. I'm about 80 miles from Denver. Stopped to fuel up and add some charge to my phone and GoPro. I will probably top up again before I hit serious mountains

That is why a camping cabin, yurt, or trailer with a bed will beat a sleeping pad or air mattress and sleeping bag... provided that mattress is any good.
Being beat up by days on the road riding in weather that might not be as hospitable as one would like...is a nice break...if you have been tent camping or bench sleeping like Frank.
Danny, at least you had a good place to stop for your gear.  A packing checklist will be a good idea to develop, to eliminate the need for purchase of additional unneeded/duplicate gear in the future.
I hope your purchases have worked well.

Frank was 900 miles away as of Sunday night when he stopped.  If he made it 6-700 today he should be there in the afternoon tomorrow unless he is up before light again.  Given no troubles or delays.

Frankie - are you still on the road?

Guys, I think the check-in time is 2:00?
Gene, I'm bringing about 5 lbs of cow and 4 cans of beans, plus the secret ingredient for Santa Maria style BBQ. ;)

We should be on the road before sun up. 370 miles. When a night worker says we are leaving VERY early, well.....

We still need to load my Hot Rod on the trailer and fill the beer cooler.

Danny, we could see you on the way (as you pass us). US24, US285, US50 then probably to Montrose, right at Ridgeway then on to the campground? Or to Lake City turning south just past Gunnison? Tan'ish? old Dodge window van with a blue 360 and an orange 1000 F.

Last people in buy a round??

Once we unload I'm planning to do a grocery/beer run for whatever in Dolores.

BTW...I found some bugs.  Maybe we could grill them up ;)
