How NOT to shorten a chain!
« on: August 24, 2016, 04:41:38 AM »
Candidate for Bone Head Move of the Month award!

Needed to cut a couple links off a new chain, so, .......use the rear sprocket as a holder, get out the trusty zip wheel, reach under the saddlebags in the shadows, without your glasses,,,,and this is what you get!

Anybody know where to get a couple single DID 630 non O-ring inner links?

I messed up my 530 chain, cut it too short - drinking and wrenching, haha - used two connecting links to make the length.

you can use a chain braeker and split and fit back, as you like..i have often build a ekstra link inn..on the kids cross bikes..use a splitter and just hammer them back together..done carefull it holds the full strengh..but vorks only vith a prof Tool..vho not damage the links
