Topic: Need some help from a CB550K owner

I'm trying to sort out how to get the rearsets I have to fit on my CB550F. As per a previous post of mine, the F and K models have a slight difference in the rear brake actuator that makes the Tarozzi rearsets I have unworkable. I would appreciate it if a CB550K owner would have the time to measure the length of the tube on the frame that the actuator rod goes through. The CB550F tube is around 90mm in length. From looking at schematics of the F and K, I think the K part is a fair bit shorter. Have attached a picture of the tube in question.

Won't your rear set all you to "clock" the actuator arm and rotate it up and back to avoid the conflict? The connecting rod should be long enough to allow you to position it behind the peg and still push the actuator...

If that doesn't work, as soon as it gets light out, I'll get you a measurement from 1 or 2 of my frames.

Thanks, much appreciated. Unfortunately it isn't easily fixed using the indexing as the brake lever hits the bracket that attaches to the actuating rod, as per the photo attached. If I can shave about 2 cm off the tube, I think it will work.

Yours looks wonky to me. Are you sure that actuator rod doesn't install from inside the frame?

 No, that's part of the Tarozzi set up. It installs on the outside. I think you have two problems. One: you're not using Tarozzi brackets, which are meant to mount off the passenger pegs and position the levers and actuator. And, Two: You have an F model....is it possible that Tarrozi has a different set up for F and K bikes?

 Sorry, I can't get that measurement you're asking for with everything assembled. It's almost impossible to access it and even if I could the return spring would be in the way.

 Also, it looks like your lever is straight and mine is angled outward to clear.

Thanks very much. The picture you posted actually helps as I can see the tube on the 'K' is definitely shorter than the 'F'. Tarozzi don't make 'F' specific rearsets. The brackets are from Cognito and the rearsets are a universal set. Will try cutting the tube down and using the shorter actuator. If no joy I have another bracket from Cognito that connects the pedal directly back to the drum brake, just need to work out how the rear brake light will come on if I use it. Worse case scenario I just mount the rearset to the pillion peg mounts.
