here i am - cb550 f2
« on: April 25, 2012, 08:51:19 AM »
hi all -

thanks for approving my request to join the forum!

i have very recently got myself a 1977 CB550 F2, which is my first 'true' motorbike so far (had a Cagiva Tamanaco 125cc as a youngster).

i very much welcome your comments and suggestions on the bike - and would need your help with a number of newbie thingys, as usual (yes, saw both your FAQ section and the search button... working on that!  ;) )

other than this, i am a collector of vintage vespas, grew up in italy and worked for a long time in the south of france, now working & enjoying the north (netherlands).

a presto

Nice bike. If it was mine I would change the front indicators to match the rears and lose that black rack thing. Who makes the rear shocks?
Welcome BTW.   :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

That looks like my first Honda. Maybe 3rd bike. I rode it for many years. I think mine was 76' Super Sport. It kept up with the 750's I rode with.  I sold it after I had to live without a garage and it sat out in the Chicago winters a couple of years :'(

Good luck with it. Watch out for the timing chain rub blocks.

I just remembered this old pic in my dresser drawer.

Is your bike in good running order?  I have the same model myself. It hasn't been on the road in 20 odd years. It's getting back there this summer.

LesterPiglet - the bike runs, it came out of a very recent renovation here
This said, I went out for a 120kms ride last sunday and came back with the battery flat, so something has to be fixed here...

hello

I'm alive but disappeared from the forum after selling the CB550 a couple of years ago.

I bought myself a 1975 CB350F this week, so pictures to come soon, plus questions  ;D
