F c m wheels
« on: August 30, 2016, 03:47:55 AM »
Hi all first many thanks to those of you that took the time to help with my boots post, so it looks like I have a 350 four with a bimota tank and seat in fibreglass (which  fits perfectly into my 750). Still confused about the wheels though five spoke mags with f c m on them twin disc front and rear disc with Delta Freni calliper, any info anyone? Thanks again

You will have better luck getting useful replies if you provide more pictures of the wheels and the markings.

What you're not keeping the 350 in one piece?

How am I supposed to give it a kosher funeral?

OK stupid of me not to upload photos. Don't worry the 350 will be intact for its funeral just tried the tank on the 750 just because i had to or I wouldn't be able to sleep  , as for funeral arrangements I will be having the 350 ridden over by young fellow from the lower classes a vagabond whom I have no further use for in fact keep him he goes by the name of

My aging father will appreciate the labor of such a lowly serf.  I will waive the customary fees in light of such a donation.

The front axle isn't installed properly: the "head" of the axle on the right side should be flush with the clamp on the bottom of the fork lower, and the threaded end should be flush with the end of the nut on the left side. It looks like the axle was never tightened up, but left several mm loose for some reason.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Thanks I will sort the axle  it will need fresh tyres anyway,  the bike was imported from Italy and left in a garage for many years the odometer  readings 19000 k . It found its way into a racer friend of mine s collection .I now believe that the rear calliper is a campagnolo, could the c in fcm be campagnolo ? If so they could be magnesium which will please Bomber man as they should burn well.

I've never seen wheels like that. All the Campags I've seen are quite different, with just a single rib down the spokes.  Those Bimota 400f kits are really rather rare, they only made about 15, I was in touch with a guy in Ohio 10-15 years ago who told me about them. He was rebuilding one at the time but passed away, no idea what happened to it (yes, there is a company remaking them now in Italy too, mostly for the Japanese market). The original kit came with the tank, frt. fender, seat/tail section, and a very trick alloy swing arm, wheels were either EPM or a 5-point star/ pentagram type similar to a Shelby-Dowd wheel. Interesting caliper mounts on the fork-  are they 33mm forks still?

Standard 33mm  just both fork legs from the disc side I presume, thanks for the info, I know the h1 had the trick swing arm , still think the bodywork is genuine been in my mates shed too long to be a copy.

Doesn't look like another left leg reversed, and Honda RSC did used to sell a right leg kit with the caliper brackets, different internals and springs for both legs too, I found one here in the UK some years ago. Would be rather pricey now.

Here are some thumbnails of the Ohio bike, from 2002, the replica kits weren't available then, they are much more recent. This one had 7 point Shelby-Dowd style wheels, so the kits certainly varied a lot.  Is there a photo of the right side of yours? Curoius about the exhaust...

I seriously doubt it original, replica kits have been made for over 30 years, Tamburinni only sold 9 or 10 HBI kits and they were very expensive, if that was original it would be worth a fortune and would more than likely be on a 750, not a 350. Anyway, that tank wouldn't fit on a Bimota frame, and an original Bimota HB1 tank would not fit on a Honda frame,  if you'd seen the difference in the frames you'd know... ;)
Sorry to disappoint you...

Hi not disappointed at all I didn'tmean a original 750 kit I know there was only ten I meant a original 400 replica tank seat and fender as opposed to a recent one. Still pretty rare I think? I am happy with it anyway. Thanks for the input.

Yes possible but unlikely, but two questions remain the wheels and if only 14 ever turn up is it as bad as my dad burying a rudge Ulster ? All I know is it came in from Italy more than 20 years ago and hasn't been touched , cheers guys for the info.
