CB/CL350 RH switch wiring
« on: August 26, 2016, 12:18:50 pm »
 Bike is a '73 CL350 (mostly).
I'm going to attempt to make one good set of controls out of two. One has good wires but the bullets have been cut and extended...and they did a horrible job.

I have another set of controls that I can sacrifice for the connectors. But I'm a few short. I have a whole box full of leftover wiring harness stuff and connectors, so I think I can save it. What I need to know is exactly which wires are female and which ones are male.
Most of them are obvious. I found these pics online:

This one seems to have less wires than my switch.

This one is more like mine. I'm assuming that the ones with the protective tips are female? The only one that's not clear is what appears to be the yellow wire. I have not consulted the wiring diagram yet, but that looks like a different type connector....for the high beam indicator in the headlight bucket, maybe?

If I follow the second pic, I should be good, right?

top switch looks like the right one to me IIRC.   One black to feed headlight, white out for low, blue out for high, brown to feed tailight.  other black to feed ignition, black/white out to coils.  yellow/red for starter, it grounds when pushed

 I don't have a brown. I have a brown/white stripe.
What about the yellow and the white/yellow stripe?

I believe the white/yellow stripe is from the stator to the headlight circuit..
