There are a couple of guys here who wish they could own one.

Instead of selling their earlier inferior models they insist on trying to denigrate the ALL POWERFULL K8

Ignore them ;D

Gotta agree with Seaweb...purely jealousy of our superior scoots!!

By the way you mentioned that it looked like it needed carb work??? yeah bank on getting to know those carbs well! Nature of the beast with these machines...I don't have a cd version of the manual but there are numerous places where you can download it...

Let us know for sure if you get it...and as always...post pics!

So, please educate me here....the K8 is the 'one' to get because it was the most sorted of the sohc 750s??

And the only one rotting away in my buddy's driveway and I could get for free!!!  ;D

Actually it's not so much of an inside joke but rather just like any group of hobbyists...we all think what we own is the best and can give a bunch of reasons why...truth is the earlier and later models are based on the same winning formula and aren't all THAT vastly different (Yeah I know I'm gonna piss of both sides here and have just started a mudslinging fest but really it's true). The earlier models I believe were a bit lighter but in my oppinion the styling got a bit better as they went on...but again just an oppion and we all know what oppinions are like...not sure exactly of engine stats but I dont think they differ dramatically...a couple of ponies either way at most.

Well, no; not quite.

The fact is that the '78 CB750K, the last year of the SOHC, really *was* the apex of 750Four development.

Welcome IndianRider  :)

just so you don't get a completely skewed view from Seaweb, my78K and Medic, note the quote:

They are slyly ignoring  the fabulous F model, and no Duster, it ain't so  :D

According to rumor, they were slapped together from various parts from prior years since they knew this was the last production run.  ::) ;D

whats with the "another K8 owner" rap in here that ive noticed in a few posts  :o .. i dont get the inside joke so id appreciate it if anyone could explain ..   ;D

It's pure logic:

I am a guy.
I own stuff.
Ergo, the stuff I own is the best.

cheers .... am excited and will post pics on here when i get it .. ( wheres the beer/cheers smiley??)

Not to worry, mate.  Many discussions here degenerate into one of three topics:

1) Beer
2) Terry (our esteemed colleague from the land of Australia)
3) Harley Riders

Welcome, and fear not; the numerous K8 owners posting above does indeed prove that we do not discriminate [much] against them.  ;)
