'74 vs '71 exhaust
« on: September 06, 2016, 03:15:35 PM »
I am seriously considering a repro set of exhausts from DSS. My project is a '71 K1 with a "74 K4 motor. The '71 pipe set is about $400 more than the set for the "74. Do I understand correctly that the difference is the removable baffles on the '71 pipes. Will the '71 replicas mount right up to the '74 head? Will the two types likely sound the same? I have sparse neighbors and do enjoy the 4 cylinder music. Would the probably better sounding '71 exhaust be worth the expense? I know.. its all in the ear of the listener.

They will bolt up with no problems and the stock HM300's have a much better sound. Less interior chambers than the 341's and should breathe better also.
