What is this ...and can I disconnect it??

I can't for the life of me figure out what this thing is, and now that I removed the metal fork covers it just gets in the way. It feeds into the headlight bucket then splits back into the main harness with the turn signals.

What is it, and can I remove it??

That is the blinker horn. It beeps when your blinkers are on. Most guys remove it or at least disconnect it in the headlight bucket. It gets annoying...

If you wire it up to the throttle you can hear it go "eeeeeeEEEEEEEE,eeeeeeEEEEEEE,eeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEE" through the gears  ;D

I didn't know I had one (beeper) but when I had to replace my handlebars and reconnected everything it was working.

Funny thing is it doesn't worry me . Maybe cause I have good dose  of industrial deafness.

Connect it to the oil light and you'll have an audible alarm or make it warn you that the sidestand is not retracted yet.

That's a good idea. But it would be annoying on startup until you got the oil pressure up

Maybe you should connect it directly to switched power so it lets you know when you're riding.

Or connect it to a friends bike :))

I removed the blinker buzzer as one of the first steps of modifying (destroying) my then CB750K6 in mint OEM shape back in the end of 70's.

I have found a NOS buzzer for the back to OEM look. It was not cheap. So save it for future use.  It has always been very easy tp forget the blinker on and close to crash with cars where the driver see my blinker telling I should turn. The buzzer will remind about switching the blinker off.

 I miss the one on my goldwing, it stopped on it's own. I've got a K2 750 right now, I'd like to try the beeper cancell button but the beeper doesn't work, or the cancell button is stuck on.

I got one and put it in the old OEM housing. Sounds like the original but can leak 'on' when wet. LED ground seeking 'on' instrument bulbs will do that too eg oil and neutral
