Hello guys! Im building another motorcycle and tracked down a motor I want to buy but it is located in Inverness while I live in Los Angeles.
The seller sounds like a stand up guy but if there is anyone in that area I would love to pay someone to take a look at it and confirm it actually exists before I wire money

Hello Blac.

You might try one of the sites where you can state you movement requirements and various couriers will bid on the job.  Sort of like a reverse eBay for transport.  Very often a courier will have job to transport stuff and rather than return with an empty van can offer a good price.  I once had a small bike brought down from Newcastle for £55, which was much cheaper than hiring a van + fuel.
