Dennis, In the Great White North you have to squeeze Thanksgiving in the two weeks you have between Summer and Winter. :o ;D

oh sure...perpetuate the stereotype that we all of about 20 miles north of you guys in NY state get so much more snow and such a long winter...Hell we have to travel to Buffalo to get enough snow to go snowmobiling...ofcourse there you have to worry about all those fires they seem to have  ;)

What fires?

And it was clear, sunny skies and darn near 60F here in Buffalo; yesterday, today and forcasted for the rest of the weekend.  Took a short ride (too short, but better than nothing) in absolutely perfect conditions.

It hasn't been as bad over the last year or 2 but it always seemed like every time I turned on WBUF the local news was covering a fire. Mainly house and building fires...not wild fires or anything not like Califorinia....

But seriously here in southern Ontario and specifically the GTA around lake Ontario our snowfall has been virtually non-existant over the last few years...I'm serious when I say that Buffalo gets way better snow conditions than we do or that I have to drive 2 hours north every time I want to get the sled out...

Thanks to our thriving economy, we've got a lot that can or should be burned down.   ;)  And as for the snowfall, that's 'cause you're on the wrong end of the lake.  Ya gotta be downwind to get the white stuff.  Look at Oswego & Syracuse, they get way more snow than we do (Ontario's deeper than Erie, so it never freezes over, yada, yada...).  It's the occassional lake-effect that hammers us and gets all the headlines.  56F & sunny, I'm thinking of going out and mowing my lawn now.  :D

Enjoying a bit of good ole American Makers Mark Kentucky Corn Whiskey at the moment.

Bill Samuels of Makers Mark would cringe. The smoothness comes from wheat. I once received a 375ml present from him straight from a barrel. Undoubtedly the best bourbon whisky I've ever tasted.

You are correct sir, it is the best. The corn reference was to seperate it from Rye and Scotch. Corn is the base and the wheat makes it unique.

Everyone must still be sleeping off their triptothane. I can't believe the guys from Texas are letting you get away with that.   :-*
I would think you all would have a thanksgiving day in celebration of being rid of us.... or do you save that day for the folks sent to Australia?   ::)
