What's the back story on that Larry ? Was it never picked up or just made it that far ? Eric
Do you remember the Pacific Coast fiasco? I did not realize at the time the shippers had rating(plus he was the only bidder) so I hired him. His truck broke down and he abandoned the PC in Youngstown, IL, where forum member DonR came to the rescue. He held it at his house until there was a bid to bring it from there to my place in PA. That shipper was very professional in both demeanor and equipment.
Here is the bike that needs a shipper
http://www.ebay.com/itm/282111984997?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITI accepted a bid of 250 from a 5 star shipper to bring it from Gastonia, NC to PA. Well, when the shipper arrived at the location the owner called me with the following info, "these guys have no idea what they're doing and I would recommend not using them". He actually refused to release the bike-looking out for me. They had a Uhaul trailer attached to a pick up, there was one bike in the pick up bed, a large bike in the trailer along with some furniture.
So the bike sat at his house for a couple weeks, when my friend Matt, a fellow forum member BTW, picked it up and drove it to his place in SC. He called me with the following info, "worst ride I've ever had, bike runs like crap, took me an hour and a half for my hands to stop tingling".
So I call the owner, who was responsible and kind enough to ride down to Matt's house and get the bike running correctly. Seems that in less than a month the pilot jets became clogged.. Matt has given me the thumbs up on performance but I am a bit hesitant to ride back 600 miles. AND AFTER TWO BAD USHIP EXPERIENCES I want to find a recommended shipper or fly down and ride back. Probably have to take an emergency leave from work if I go down.
