Topic: Different Funnels on Keihin CR?

Hello Guys.

So first of all, i'm a dumbass! I thrown away my original Black Funnels to my Keihin CR carbs.  Until now I drove the bike with KN-look-a-like filters, and the bike goes quite well. But a friend of mine just mounted a set on his GS1100 and he told me there was a MASSIVE difference between riding with filters and riding with funnels. 

Anyhow, I have a nice set of Alu funnels from some Weber IDA (vw aircooled) and they fit OD on the Keihin. But now to the question:

The original Keihin Black Plastic Funnels fits inside the carb and the airjets goes outside the funnel, to maximize flow i guess ? And mine alu funnels just goes on the outside of the carb body. Would this  #$%* up the flow, and be as "bad" as filters ?

Reason I ask before I mount is that I need to mill the funnels a bit so they will fit beside each other

What held them on, I should use those on my DCOE 40 Webers..
 Then you can get another black set.

Don't the CR stacks thread into the carb throats?

got the feeling that original CR stacks keep the jetting holes outside for a reason.... same for the diameter continuity, with yours there's going to be a big change in crossection at the carb entry, doesnt look right

those velocitiy stacks  seem to be kind of old school, CR and current ones have a much mich larger radius at the tip
