Yet another "New" old man on the board!
« on: September 18, 2016, 04:47:28 PM »
I am looking forward to having you guys keep me out of trouble as soon as I start my project.

My name is Jim AKA Jigger when I raced district 37 in the deserts of So Cal. in the 70's. Never did any good, but had a lot of fun and made lots of friends.

Any way I'm 64 years stupid and figured that if I started my mid-life crisis now I will live to about 128 or so! I own 3 scrap heaps that we loosely call motorcycles, they are 1965 CL72 (Scrambler) 1971 CB750 (laid down at 80 MPH) and still have most of the parts, and a CB650. The 650 is the one that brought me to this board. It is the closest thing to a running bike I own and plan to start with it eventually.

So I will be lurking here and learning and then pestering all of you for GOOD advise when I finally get to it. I have a basket full of questions that I will try to place in the proper forums, so I'll see you there!

Thanks for reading
Jim

And then there are the other 2, they will need just a tad more work. Maybe I'm nuts, but I see the beautiful work some of you guys have done............and it looks so easy! I like a challenge, plus there is no time frame on these. If I get tired, then I will stop for awhile. I will make a thread when I get started on any of them. Until then I will be lurking and learning, I'm no stranger to a wrench, so save me a seat at the nut house!

Thanks in advance for all the help I'm sure I will get here.

Jim

1965 CL 72 (250 Scrambler) this is the 2nd bike I ever owned. I bought it almost 50 years ago for $325.00 used.

The second one is my 71 CB 750, it was a bad arse bike until I laid it down going 80 MPH on a curve (hit some water in the turn).
