« on: September 27, 2016, 10:42:19 AM »
hi all after many years I finally have my own 1978 cb750 four F2 of 1978 vintage its low mileage of 25000 miles and extremely clean but I cant ride the damn thing as when I try to insure it the online sites come up with 748cc for this model and if I go for classic insurance it has to be garaged which it wont be (although it wont get wet) it seems the 736cc is not recognised can anyone offer some advise  please :-[

UK based?

Rather than try and get your insurance over the net, it might be worth picking up the phone and talking to a real person. The drop-down lists on these sites don't list every bike ever made. The 748cc as you probably know relates to the dohc's.

I've currently got my F2 insured with Carole Nash, however over the years I've also been with Peter Best and Footman James. As for not having a garage - does it have to be garaged at your home? Do you have a mate with a garage?
