Fuel overflow when moving from kick to centrestand
« on: October 02, 2016, 07:29:56 AM »
Hi guys,

On my 1974 CB750 I have a bizarre issue.

I park the bike on its kickstand and close the petcock. A couple days later I come out and move it to its centerstand and fuel pours out the overflow tubes.

What would cause this? Does the fuel pool into the left side of the carb pairs (ie. Carb 1-2 fuel pools over to 1, carb 3-4 fuel pools over to 3)

Fuel level is too high in your bowls.  This should not happen going from one stand to the other.
any chance you have aftermarket float valves in there?

Very possible. Bike is new to me this year. I haven't taken the carbs apart yet.

I also have been running very rich. Float heights could explain that issue too.
