Some parts came today, I love getting parts! Tarozzi rear sets and clip on bars, also Cognito upper triple clamp. I'm waiting on the rear set bracket's, apparently backordered, of course I wasn't made aware of this until the box arrived.

First off, welcome to the CB World.  Good to hear it's now running good. Surprised no one has mentioned this, but you have carbs from an earlier model.  Not a bad thing but keep it in mind if you ever have to order parts.  The carbs should have the model number stamped on em.

+1 on getting a stainless exhaust. I have the MotoGP on my current project.  Chris makes them in his shop in CA, here is his listing for a CB400, they are a work of art!

I pointed that out in Tj's "introductory" thread. That was one of the first things I noticed!  ;)

I love the bare metal tank.
Wish mine was in good enough shape to do that.

Just pulled the trigger on this set up. I hope the quality is there, it's not an exact replica of the CR, but I'm not building a replica. I'm building what I envision when I think café bike.

Who's the manufacturer?  Meadspeed?

Meadspeed makes one hell of a replica, there's is about as close to the real deal as I think you can get. I tried to get my hands on Meadspeed's, it was nine months to make one. I just couldn't wait that long, this set was made in Wisconsin for cycle X. Apparently they didn't sell very well, it looks legit except it does not have the sump at the rear of the tank.

I'm also excited that the tail section is aluminum. Even Meadspeeds tail is glass. In all of the photos I've seen it looks legit, the welds look amazing, mounting points are all there. I guess I'll wait and see, when it arrives I'll take tons of photographs. I'm really excited, my vision is coming together.

I'm looking at it like a ridable mock up, when it's the way I want it I'll tear it apart and clean it up.

Looks sweet!

I just got the cognito rear set brackets for my 78 and they are going to take a little extra work to make work.  Let me know how yours end up as you go and I can help you as well.

BTW with your new set up coming, you wanting to get rid of that rear seat?  I may be interested.
