Damn storm tracking models keep nudging Matthew more and more West. They've even got one model now tracking right over our house! I wasn't planning on boarding up, but now I'm considering it. We're about 50 miles from Melbourne on the East coast. Need to stock up on rum and tequila... just the essentials you know!

Everyone going to Barber this weekend have a wonderful time. Looks like I'll be picking pine cones out of my arse this weekend!

We're always getting storms of heavy rain/snow around this Pittsburgh area;one storm is blowing out and a new one blowing in,I'm tired of it and will be moving soon.Hang tough Wilbur.

I've been watching this pretty close, you'll be ok Wilbur (but be sure to get the rum and tequila!)

My brother and sister not so much, that both live within 2 miles of the coast down in S Florida. But they have "pre-evacuated", they're in Italy on vacation! I sent my brother a text the other day warning him of a possible hit, his response was "I'll start shopping for a new boat"!

It will probably just be some wind and rain for us. Kind of like any summer afternoon thunderstorm. Except without the thunder (tropical systems usually don't generate much lightning) and an afternoon that lasts anywhere from 12 to 18 hours!

Thanks. In laws came over from Titusville on the coast, their house is only a couple miles from the coast.

Got the windward side boarded up, gathered up all the loose stuff in the yard, just waiting for the power to go out!

Gonna be a long night. High winds should be blowing steady by 2:00 A.M., peaking around 8:00 A.M. Things won't start to taper off until noon (or later) tomorrow.

I think the weathermen are generating so much wind that they actually pushed the storm further offshore! Sustained winds around 60mph, we've managed to stay "between bands" and haven't seen much rain either. Best possible scenario. Let the after party begin!

The water table here is about three feet down. When setting fence posts the post holes will have water in the bottom.
