Slight sparking at the points is not necessarily bad.

Look for possible arcing, some sparking is OK.

Left condensor (1+4) is bad, right condensor (2+3) is good

Yes.  Each one has developed a small white area.  The surfaces don't mate very well and where they do touch is where the white spot has developed.  seem like they suck

That stuff is burn't deposits and should be cleaned-off.. better to replace them as they were junk(daichi)from the start.

I just went through 3 Daichi condensors in a month, then went electronic. I thought maybe my coils were getting ht and failing, but they were not. Hot, cold, they ohmed the same. There is nothing else to cause the condensors to go bad (that Ive read) more so than the quality of the dick chang parts.

Honda oem points and condensers will run about $100.  I already have $50 in the non-working Diachi.  If I have to spend another $100 I'm just going to buy an electronic ignition.  I have a Pamco on my 350.  It's fine but I had to bend the sensors to get the timing and advance close to correct so the install was challenging and I had to revisit it several times to get it right.  Anyone have the Pamco on a 550, or another brand?

You could try a used set like this. At a quick glance it seems to be in decent shape. I'd rather use a used OEM set than a new Daiichi set.

A good used points plate(new are difficult to locate but well worth it  ,they'll last for a good long while)where the oem stock points can be re-habbed is a good way to go as long as they haven't been damaged.The HondaMan transistorized electronic ignition box along with good points is better than Pamco imo.
