I have purchased several GumTwo products... 1973 CB750, 1976 CB550F, etc.

And I can not speak highly enough about their quality and fitment.  Covering the seat foam with plastic wrap first helps with getting the cover on.

Good luck with your new cover!

Can't comment on others, but you might check this out if you're interested. quality seems good and shipped from usa. very reasonable price.

I have one for my 550 and like it. Chrome trim isn't included on the 550 version, not sure on the 750.

They probably all come out of the same factory in China, do any come with the chrome piping that is moulded into the seat cover on the original? If not, they won't look right. Cheers, Terry. ;D

The way that you get the rigid edging on the new cover is to cut the one off of the old seat and use it help hold the new cover in place.  It is made of hard rubber material and is 'U' shaped to fit over the edge of the pan.

You stretch the cover over the seat foam and use large alligator clips and glue all around the perimeter.  Once the glue has set you then place the rigid edging, that you cut off of the old cover, over the edge of the seat pan.

Take your time trimming the edge off of the old cover.  It works really well.

Only problem is that if your seat cover looks like trash, then the chrome edging usually does too...other than that, gumtwo 550 cover I used looked great and comes with excellent installation instructions
If it works good, it looks good...

This is what mine looks like w/o trim. I was searching for the best looking trim, here's what I found from a previous post by another member.

I recommend the gumtwo cover. Their seat cover I installed on my 550F was an excellent fit and still looks great eight years later. Price is right.

Does gumtwo have their covers made in Asia?  I think it's interesting that all their accompanying photos show their seat cover installed on the correct seat.  I'll send them a ebay note and ask- see if I get a response.

Yep, and without the chrome trim the seats look half arsed. I bought one, fitted it, didn't like it and it's still kicking around my garage somewhere. Good to know you can buy some chrome trim though, I used the "U" shaped plastic chrome car door edging on a seat I re-covered and it didn't look too bad. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Another vote for the gumtwo. I have done a 400F and a 750F with the gumtwo covers and was very happy with the results.

David Silver Spares has a complete K4  metal pan seat for $99. I won't be scraping any more mouse poo until I see one of those in person. They also have one for $180 that appears to be nicer.

I can give dos-taquitos for the Pit-replica. (That means Two Thumbs Up in espanol) I didn't like the gum-two because instead of heat pressed like OEM it was stitched through which around here where it rains a good bit, would let water into the foam. Then Pit-replica looked very much OEM when I was done installing it.

I give gumtwo the thumbs up. I put one on my K3 and the fit was good and it looked really nice. I will bet getting another one for my current project a 78 CB550K.

I have both a gumtwo 550K and a pit-replica 550F cover. The gumtwo (pictured) was on my 550 for several years while I sorted out the correct tank & seat. I, like Duanob, don't like the pattern being stitched into the cover because of concerns about water getting in. However it has been very comfortable, durable and seems to me quite well made and high quality. (I made my own strap as strong as the original honda one)
My 550 has been off the road since two weeks after fitting the pit-replica cover so all I can say is it seems ok and it is indeed a faithful exact replica of the original honda cover at a great price! (This one didn't come with a strap.)

I've used gumtwo seat covers on both a 550 I had and my current F2 with great results, the one on my F2 has been on for 4 years now and still looks great. The only problem that I'm aware of with gumtwo seat covers is that he had issues with the strap that runs across the top, what ever vinyl he was using although it worked great as a seat cover it wasn't suitable as a strap so he stopped including the strap with the cover. That's been a while back so I don't know if he's corrected that or not, on my 550 i just reused the original strap and nobody noticed. Still a hard price to beat if you're not worried about keeping the bike 100% original.

EDIT
Another thing to keep in mind is that if you have a seat that he doesn't currently make a cover for all you have to do is ask, if your old seat cover has enough "meat" left to it for him to make a pattern from then he can probably make another one for you. The reason I know this is that for a brief time I had an aftermarket king/queen seat on my F2 that was starting to get torn up but being it was aftermarket he didn't have a cover in stock for it so i simply asked if him if he could make another one if I sent him my old seat cover and he said yes. I never got around to it because as soon as I got my 1100 interstate the king/queen seat on the F2 was removed and the original seat (with his cover) went back on.
