ratfink and dgfischer made me think back to a time when I trolled a martial arts forum causing trouble.
I had 4 email accounts and set up four profiles, I would "battle" with my self and draw other members into the fray, it was fun actually.  Anyone else do this? And for the record I am not a troll anymore.
I farted and made my son cry.

We have nifty little tools that allow us to find trolls, as you call them. You may think you have fooled us with multiple ID's and accounts, but we know who you are. ::) ;D

You do know that there are nifty little tools for defeating some of your nifty little tools. ;)  After all, they haven't stopped me from arguing with me, I mean mrblasty. ;)

And what would be the purpose of this? To get others into the fray and rile them up? What's the outcome other than hard feelings? Not being snarky, just wanting to know the driving force behind the endeavour?

Wasn't there one a while back that had a Cheez-Whiz eating rat with a hideous face for his avatar?  ;)

I did something like that a looong time ago when I wrote a column for a small paper.  I wanted it to be annonymous, so when some people would begin getting suspiscious that it was I doing the writing, I would throw in some nasty gossip about myself.  Worked every time.

I admit I have engaged in heated discussions, in this an other forums, and at the end I have always regret doing so. Sometimes I have thought what would happen if I log in with a different user name and pretend to engage a discussion. Sure thing, it will increase the number of viewers because we tend to be attracted by violence in any form, and maybe it can grant some laughs to the troll, but where is the point? For the rest of the users, if there are two nicknames there are two different people, even if there is only one behind them. It's like wrestling; it attracts crowds even when everybody knows it's just a coreography...

Trolls. Hmmmmm.

Let me get this straight. You argue with yourself in order to inflame others.

I'm not a psychiatrist but whoever would do that has issues. Consider this. What happens if you loose the argument?

I already spend too much time creating the original post properly. Why would I want to spend the time replying to myself, properly, for someone elses gratification?

Yeowwww!
Time is short!

Only if you cut them up, weight them with lead and use them for bait.
