Well rat, I Dont know about more tolerant forums. When all you do is cut on people, even the most tolerant will grow tired of you.  Fact of life buddy.  Sounds like what you really want is a place just to talk smack to others.

Just to clarify things, I am sure the well known board member, "ratty", spent a great deal of time to come up with a board/forum name that would certainly personify his character - - - ->RATFINK

There is a little give and take here, but everyone is actually very friendly. Even Terry!

In this world, there are some people who spend 1/2 of their time offending the sensibilities of others while spending the other 1/2 acting oppressed and misunderstood because others have been offended.  Call it the "Madonna Effect" or the "Marilyn Manson Syndrome."  The funny thing is that these people owe most of their attention and fame to the fact that some people find their actions objectionable.  Were it not so, the fans would be denied the opportunity to be edgy and hip by following these losers.

Sorry Burmashave it may be the Rye clouding my thoughts here but I don't really follow you...are you comparing Fink to Madonna or Manson? If so I couldn't agree more...all 3 are no talent hacks who at best manage to shock "some" people but for those of us who aren't quite so delicate it's hard to even pick them up as a blip on the radar...another similarity is I have never bought one of the artists' cd's nor did I buy any of Fink's B.S.!!  ;)

I just don't understand why some folks have to be so "Close Minded" and so
Inconsiderate of others, you know? ??? Just a little thought before putting the mouth in gear. ::)
Oh, and I didn't see the list of "More Tolerant" sites, did I miss it? ???

Let me put it a different way.  I have no respect at all for people who actively annoy other people and then complain when those people get annoyed.  Maddona and Marilyn Manson have elevated this to a lucrative artform.  Madonna tries very hard (it gets ever harder) to offend people's sexual mores and then calls the offended "prudes."  Manson offends and then whines depressingly about how he is "misunderstood."  Without shock value, both of these no talents would be where they belong. Yet, these two performers -- and others like them -- whine endlessly about the fact that people are shocked by their actions.

In Ratfink's case, as is true of many of the same ilk, he tried to offend, and now he whines that we are not "tolerant."  If you want to live on the edge, pay the price, babe.

was going to respond a bit earlier with this post but, i'm glad i waited.

i wanted to point out that we the mods are messengers for all of you... when ratfink was "modded to death" we were only speaking on behalf of the many complaints that we had received about his recent posts.

hopefully this thread shows that there was a growing perception that we were made aware of and were required to act upon through guidelines that have been set for the SOHC4 forums.

Sad that things have gotten to this point. I posted my only response to this whole issue. For the record, I do believe this forum to be the most tolerable of BS that I have seen to date.
