Topic: Engine Test Run Fuel tank

I am looking to test run the bike before I fit the fuel tank, have seen that a few people do this and it seems like a much better way to make some adjustments to the carbies.

Can anyone tell me if there is a an easy setup to use for this. I would think that I need a container that will hold aapprox 1 litre of fuel but will also need a tap on it. Suggestions or photos would be great.

Motion pro, and probably other parts places, make an aux tank just for this purpose.
Others here have some clever ideas, using small engine/mower tanks hung from the ceiling.  Inline shutoff valve.
I just use a funnel hosed right to the carbs, and fill as needed.

I use a riding lawn mower tank in a birdcage frame. Not the most elegant but works well. I run a splitter off the petcock so I have two lines to play with, works well on 750's. Use it all the time on new projects and tuning. One of those must have things if you fiddle with bikes.

I made mine from an old weed eater fuel tank and parts from the hardware store.  Hung it from a step ladder and made a platform that I clamped to the ladder. 

It was fun making this, but by the time I added up what I spent, time running around, I could have bought a Motion Pro tank...but hey what fun is that?

I will try to find a lawn mower tank first, I am almost certain the motion pro tank is not sold here in aus and not viable to get sent over. I will make up something if I can't source a lawn mower tank.

I just used my tank and a little fish tank air line hose fits snug directly into the gas line hose 12 feet away I can set my tank on anything but my tanks blah Idk if I'd risk a nice one

Use some long fuel hose, attached to the carb fuel hose with filters.

I use an old Honda CT90 fuel tank cleaned up.  See URL below;

Or rig up a hospital IV bottle and run it to your carburetors.

I went down to a mover shop that we use to service our generators and demo saws, the walked out back and came back with an old one, FOC. Problem solved and thanks for the quick replies.
