While i wait for parts i started on my headlight bracket. Still needs work but you get the idea

      Oh yeah, nice and tidy looking there. I, among others I'm sure, anxiously waiting on your parts too.   ;)

Haha I'm sure i could start building the downtubes now, but i want to verify the chain fitment to be on the safe side. I decided to space the sprocket 1/4 inch from stock rather that bring the motor any more to the right. I dont see it causing any issues that way, especially since I should be within 1mm on alignment, which im assuming is "close enough".

I may mount my taillight tomorrow while i continue to wait. I got a fun one  ;D

Haha you'll have to wait and see. I'm trying to figure out if I can mount it in an interesting way, but it may have to wait til I have wheels.

Getting the sprockets tomorrow, now I have to get this old one off, it's really stuck on, may throw a little heat on there. If I did everything right (I took the difference in thickness between a 530 and 520 sprocket into account) I should have near perfect alignment. I still need to make a roller for the chain to clear the swingarm pivot, but that should be easy.

I'm very eager to start the downtubes, the design I'm going to go with is basically the same as the sohc 750. I will continue the downtubes up to the neck, then make a crossbar to T across between them, and will weld it into the little stub of single downtube remaining. Should be plenty strong.

I presume it was from a wrecked bike.  Just expect a wrecked bike taking damage to the motor.

That headlight is just for mockup, the real one will be the same size, just not that color.

The motor was a steal, 600 shipped with 3k on it. Ebay seller provided video of it running in the damaged bike, and a compression test.  Motor itself was unscathed.

       That WAS quite a good deal, on that motor. I hope you are able to do a video of the Road Test of this one. Really a Very Cool build. Glad we can "Tag Along", while you put This One together. Thank Youi for the opportunity.   8) ;)

Alignment is spot on, now I can work on the downtubes with it broken down, and will just shuffle the motor in and out to verify fitment.

           I doubt that it would happen, but would be cool if there was a "Kit" on the Market, To make it so a person could Buy and "Build Their Own". Could start a whole new trend.  8)

          I'm anxious to see and hear, how this combo works out, myself.  ;)

When it's done the fit and finish will be leagues better than an oem honda on the showroom floor. Maybe it'll find its way into a honda exhibit somewhere with a free trip for its owner?  8)

Or, if someone from honda is listening, I'd love some "sponsored" parts to cut down on my costs for refinishing the motor. Maybe donate a left over '15 cbr500r for me to hack up??? A guy can dream haha.

I guess if it turns out great and there are those that like it, I could build more than one? Only thing is the parts cost alone would be high, I'm not sure how many people out there would want to spend the pesos on it. All done I will have spent around 10 to 12k including paint, powdercoat, plating, and polishing. I will have something like 300 hours into the first one, but I think I could cut that in half for the second. That's assuming I am building something very close to the first one, same motor, frame, etc.

Strengthening the backbone is very straight forward once i looked at it, just need some larger OD tubing and i can cut it up and piece it in. Should be strong as hell. I chopped as much as i could out of the bottom of the frame so the motor goes in and out easier.  Its a tight fit, but the best way i found is scissor jack the front and rear of the frame way high, put the motor in turned 90°, then rotate it and lower the frame down slowly. It all clears, only just. I have to strengthen the rear lower mount after chopping the #$%* out of it. The radiator now fits as if it was made for the frame, and the hoses route easy enough. I have a long list of welding to do, but i will start by getting the other downtube completed.

It'd be really hard to cut dollars out of the parts, especially considering i got some really good deals on a few of them. Also keep in mind im not going crazy on any of the components, just decent stuff. I guess if one were to do the paint, powdercoat, and polishing themselves it would cut back costs, but i am looking for a show worthy finish so i want someone else to do it. The amount of time would be the biggest difference. I could get to where i am and take half as long without some of the trial and error.
