Beware of "OEM" parts...especially some on Feebay (ebay)
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:45:48 PM »
There is a company in ___ that is called OEM Parts and Accessories "guarantee high quality" is their label on the box. They are OEM Motor RARTS Co.LTD.,MIT
I kid you not the box has RARTS instead of Parts.
Quality parts but not quality assurance/review of their labels by an English speaking individual who also reads English and wasn't asleep that day...
I have two items I bought from a vendor at separate times and the company name is identical on both...
The second is a white box with label but the box has a watermark like reflective pattern on the box.

Are the RARTS any good?

Sorry Bobby, missed your question.  Yes, they are of acceptable quality from visual inspection.  One is a high lift cam for a 70 cc honda motor...going to acquire more parts before that work is done.  Lots of time sellers claim a part is an OEM part...  just different meaning when company is called OEM rather than being the Original Equipment Manufacturer who made the parts for Honda in this case.
The supplier is well respected and did not make the claims of OEM but it occurred to me that could be claimed accurately by other sellers, but, that is misleading without realizing a part is made by a company called OEM.

With parts like cams, you want to be sure the lobes are properly hardened. It does sound decptive. Welcome to the new normal!
