Topic: Swarbrick CB550 Header Question

I am looking around for pipes for my CB550 and would prefer to put a 4-4 setup on it. I have heard the Swarbrick pipes are not a bolt-on option, but from what I can find it sounds as though the silencers cause most of the fitment issues. If anyone has put a set on their CB550 I am keen to know if the headers are a decent fit and could form the basis of a 4-4 setup, with silencers from someone like Cone Engineering.  I'm guessing there would need to be some custom pipe fabrication between the headers and silencers as well.

I would love to go the Carpy stainless option, but being in Australia the dollar, shipping and local custom duties is a killer.

The Delkevics with a Cone Engineering silencer is probably what I will end up with. The headers are pretty reasonably priced over here.

If you struggle to find a merchant willing to ship to you in Oz, many members have provided some intermediary shipping assistance with a US addy, then forwarded along to Oz. 

Hi Cal, the Delkavic importer lives about 20 minutes from where I live, just south of Brisbane,  no need for overseas shipping, I've spoken to him and he's a nice guy.

tacc13, there are no customs fees on international purchases under $1000 AUD, {not USD or any other currency, make sure you do accurate currency conversions},  shipping fees are not included in the costs..

Thanks everyone for the replies. I realised it is Benji that sells the stainless 4-4 pipes. Pretty sure they are well over the $1000AUS limit. I was going to pick some up on a recent US work trip but ended up dropping into Cognito and getting a bunch of other parts I needed. Think the Delkevics are looking good, at least until another work trip.
