question about the regulator/rectifier
« on: October 20, 2016, 05:31:02 PM »
hello everyone. new here. hopefully someone can help me out.

i have a 1978 cb750 SOHC with a rick's regulator/rectifier. bike was overcharging. tested the field coil and stator as well and they checked out good. so i put my stock voltage regulator back on and it's charging properly. my question is, is it safe to use the rick's combined r/r as only a rectifier and use the stock voltage regulator?

TIA

Yes. No problem. Just connect the 3 yellows, red to the battery, and ground. Tie the rest out of the way. The two reg and rec are separate circuits sharing the case.

I went went the separate units.  Fit in factory locations with factory connections.
