New RPE Racing H Beam Forged Conrods
« on: October 10, 2016, 03:08:52 PM »
Hello fellows,

New CB750 SOHC conrods from RPE Racing. These are a direct OEM replacement and much stronger than stock. For those of you who have bigger bores (heavier pistons), higher revs or are just after a better than OEM rebuild, this is it!

Not as expensive as carrillo or pauter but just as strong.

These retail for 700. Free shipping if you buy through the forum. Just send me a PM.

Link to ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/272408103055?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

Specs:
4340 Forged Chrome Moly steel for highest strength
Shotpeened
H Beam design
Supplied with 200.000 psi 12 point high strength bolts
Bronze Bush little end
Stock (360g) vs RPE Racing (409g)

Please note also:
"Stock con rod bolts are not designed to be re-used! When tightened properly (and you should do that at any rate), they will stretch beyond their elastic limit. When re-used, they may come loose, and if they do, it's a major havoc in your engine" - Satanic Mechanic

Thanks ;),
Paulo

Nice to see a Carillo alternative!
So far my turbo engine is holding up fine with stockers but thats probably also because it makes power relatively low revs... 5000-7500rpm 115nm and then torque fades a bit to 9000rpm.

If you build an engine with cam that has its power at 7500-10000rpm and race it, these are nice because the piston speeds on the cb750 are quite high with the relatively long stroke.  8)

Thanks.

You are right revs are the main issue with rods along with detonation.

I love your bike btw!

Hmm, $533 US. I wonder what shipping would cost?. The calculator doesn't show an option there. Good alternative to stock rods for a big bore build for sure.

No third party reviews as its brand new. Wanna be the first?

However we have been machining conrods for CBs for many years and one is yet to fail...These are in no way inferior.

Very tempting offer. Especially when I have left over parts for another engine.
Called a friend in a nearby city  yesterday that has plenty of CB750 parts that told me to send an email about my needs. I have a K2 block, K6 crank/alernator/starter gear/motor+ gearbox except final shaft + k2 restored prim hub, K6 clutch and an F2 clutch with sidecover, ported head with std valve size, APE cyl studs, 836 + 900 block and another block that can become a 1000cc block once welded. + VM29 smoothbore carbs and some cams....chains + tensioners too
My avatar bike and ongoing, never ending build of improvements will get a CB900 (0.8kW) starter motor with gear I was lucky to find on eBay.

I got a call this evening that he has all small other parts I need to build an extra engine.....  Good to have if needed and a quick swap save the season.
- Better rods can be on that list too :) But not good on a std crank, right?    CB750 modification is very addictive!!!

Just to clarify, these are forged, not machined from billet? That would be a cost effective method.
And i think you mentioned a forged stroker crank maybe in the future... And I suppose stroker rods? Is that correct ?  Reasonable price on your rods.

Billet strocker crank yes. And forged rods to go with it.

Forged crank demands higher costs when talking lower production numbers.

Thanks  ;D

What's a ball park number on the striker rotating assembly?? Ah yes, you can use the entire ball field when estimating a price.

Any slimmer rod alternative?
Strong enough for 836-900cc and 10.000rpm, a little bit stronger than OEM.

Not really.

These would be fine for that though. If you need to lighten the assembly, look at the crank. We drop 2 kg of the std crank...
