Cb550 strange electrical issue
« on: October 24, 2016, 05:51:43 AM »
So my bike started doing a strange thing. When I turn the ignition switch on I get no lights no power. I wait a min or 2 and slowly the lights start to fade in then boom full power. Anyone know what could cast a this delay? 1974 cb550f

Bad fuse or bad fuse mounting clamps. Or a bad ground that heats up and becomes conductive. Bad key switch or its internally dirty.

I am not a bomber but back in the day I smoked them.  ;-)
I agree with previous bombers.

OR you could think of it as a "feature" that makes your bike unique.  Like the beginning of a great movie -- they all start with "FADE IN...."

;-)
I recently restored and sold a 77 cb750f, and am nearly finished with a (former basket case) cb750k5.  This is a place to share, learn and enjoy.  I am grateful to and for 99+% of this site's membership.
