How many Seattlites are riding in the next few days?
« on: October 13, 2016, 04:31:48 PM »
I had to draw the line this morning on riding in.

Too dang wet for me.  It's not that I have a problem with rain - its just that a riding suit isn't a deep sea diving suit.  It will seep and leak and drip - and yup I'll show up to work looking like a drowned rat.

With the windstorm predicted for Friday I've just written off commuting in to work.  Looks like old Ranger Danger pickup is going to get some miles on it finally.

This is perfect weather for a truck with all terrain tires.
So much water and autumn tree debris on the road, not worth the risk.

I went for a nice ride to Bainbridge and Port Orchard on Sunday, it was nice. 60 degrees and partly sunny depending on where you were.

Yeah...no more commuting for me.
Dark, 45F and wet.  Cars sprinting to work....it just isnt safe.
An Infinity coupe spun out backwards in the cloverleaf from Hwy9 to 522 yesterday right in front of me.
Sport tires, standing water, and too many lateral G's.  The length of his drivers side met the concrete median  :o

Saving my riding for those brief sunny...and dry afternoons.  Like today.

Yup, getting a new front tire and waiting for some sunshine to dry up the piles of maple leaves.  I wanna get down into rochester sometime soon.

But I will be riding dec 3rd.  Rain or shine, Olympia Toy Run.

Well so long as it isn't actually pouring rain and/or super gusty windy I do ride in.  I have my limits, they're getting broader as I get older (for some reason), but I do ride in the fall and winter more often than not.

I'm noticing that the early morning drivers are just getting angrier and angrier.  Lots of crazy lane changing, super fast speeds, using the carpool lanes as a passing lane (a huge no-no).

I'm curious if this is going to be a wet and wild winter or just another yawner like last year?

A stupid yuppie, yaking on a cell phone, not paying attention to driving in an Infinity coupe spun out backwards in the cloverleaf from Hwy9 to 522 yesterday right in front of me.

Fixed that for ya!  ;)

This was just declared the wettest October on record. Let's hope for a dryer November.
