Just scored a 7 gen Ipod Nano because I had some credit card points burning a hole in my account. This is my first apple product since I had an Apple IIc as a wee squirt and so far I am not smitten.
I slowly learned the only way to load songs on this damned thing is to put software on my win10 desktop I want absolutely NOTHING to do with any more- the dreaded Itunez.  :P

Sooo, the question I have is there any better alternative out there to load songs and podcasts out there from a 64 bit windows 10 machine to my 7th gen Nano?

Please, please don't tell me my only option is to download teh Itunez.

I have to admit a lot of this stuff is over my head, but I asked my lad and he said why not just use Spotify?

 the new ipod is basically a smart phone that can't make phone calls.

If you want to upload your own library, you will need itunes.

Otherwise you'll hafta buy songs from the itunes app on the device. 
Too bad you can't enter product codes of albums you already own to get a download for free.

The Nano is a standalone Ipod player that only connects to other devices via bluetooth to play songs or through the earbuds.
Spotify is an online music player and does not have much to do with Ipod devices.

I guess I will have to find a way to load up Itunez without all the bloat of the useless crap they load up with it on the installer. There are some guides on the intarwebs but they are quite dated- windows 7 dated.

Jesus, so this crap is what all you Apple fanboys drool about? All this bloated, janky crap just to load some songs on a damned mp3 player? Good sweet baby Jesus  ::)

It wasn't that bad before Steve Jobs kicked the bucket.
His no-nonsense leadership was what made apple great. 
Without him, the company began chasing after competitor ideas.  Rather than forging a different path.
