I also put this topic in tricks and tips, that was probably the wrong place...

I was looking for something almost completely unrelated to this subject and came across these filters, they are designed to work with velocity stacks, I think they could be worth a look. They come in a plethora of spacings and should fit most 4 cylinder bikes........ ;)
What do you think...?

The same ones.? Got a link, I wouldn't mind a read. Uniflow is an Aussie company, I hadn't seen these type of filters specifically made for bikes before...

Mick I use two dual filters over stacks. The trick is to have as much space between the end of the bellmouth and the foam end wall, 45mm minimum.  Tintop made alloy plates to mount to the carbs and used OEM style stacks inside the full width foam.

I think they were black maybe , probably different brand.. He used them on the Webers, and inhad run without and needed something..for next time I run Webers.
It looks like you can cut the foam, and glue together what you need, once you source the foam.
Uni sells some by the sheet, but not sure if they sell thick stuff, the stuff I had was 5/16 or so.

Yes, I remember Tintops "antipod", these filters here seem to have springs inside to keep distance from the stack to the filter, have you seen one of these particular filters Brent..?  TT's stacks were better designed than most....

Yeah, I wasn't sure how they fitted on but it looks like you just stretch the foam over the stacks, maybe you do just glue them up... I might give them a ring and see..

Just gave them a ring, they just stretch over the stacks, they will also make them to suit any spacing....

I've been running individual Uni filters with the springs, stretched over the Weber stacks and secured with ty-wraps for a couple of decades or so. ;) IIRC, the last ones I bought were $12-15 each from a local bike shop.

Yep, they've always seemed to work well on webers, its bike carbs that are finicky, CV's are the worst for anything but an airbox.... I was looking for alternatives for CV's when I came across these filters...

Yes I think I've seen these.  The biggest percentage racing will run without filters. I don't see many struggling for a world championship however.  ;D But what I have seen is sticky race rubber throwing all manner of corruption into carbs so unfiltered at this level...I don't get. It's only worse on the street, those will work.
