Need ebay advice about camshaft holder and rocker arms!!
« on: November 07, 2016, 10:04:55 AM »
hey experts!

Need a camshaft holder and Rocker arms for my 1976 cb750,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/75-78-HONDA-CB-750-F-CB750F-K-CAM-SHAFT-CAMSHAFT-HOLDER-ROCKER-ARMS-PINS-1975-76-/252606523686?fits=Year%3A1976%7CMake%3AHonda%7CModel%3ACB750K%7CSubmodel%3A750+Four&hash=item3ad085a926:g:oz8AAOSwx2dYEURW&vxp=mtr

This looks like a good deal but the part number is different, I understand some parts are interchangeable but will this still fit?  Also how do the condition of those rocker arms look? still some life in them? a little sketched out about buying used parts on ebay, especially since its listed as no returns.

Thanks guys

Looks like slight wear on the cradles themselves, at least 7 rockers i would run.

I would offer 110-120.... Reason ..mght he better off buying a parts motor ..

Some of the cam bearings have scuff marks. strange that the upper side has it. Usually the lower side, cam holder itself.

Here is another set or 2

I bought a newer cam holder set from a 1978, those cam erings had not stamped markings for correct matching. It was ink marks, numbers.

I scratched a set or 2 when I missed that 2 time-serts in the head had followed the bolts up, stick-out of 0.5mm. Cam holder did not sit tight to head then. I think that was the reason for the scuff marks. Maybe not a big deal if oil pressure is good and good oil used.

Parts motors rock (I took the cam, caps, and tower and a rocker out of my spare f3 motor but then again parts motors are heavy and you don't know what you're getting.

True, but if local sometimes you can pull the valvecover and look. Then you know what to pay..

PeWe posted?

Ill most likely just turn in the rocker arms or those set ups to DYNOMAN for core replacements for his upgraded ones.
