There is so much bull in this wiring harness. Cornfusing. Even with the diagram. I have wired choppers all my life, breeze. 10ft of wiring and the bike was done. But this little import has me wondering where to start. Originally, I was going to run kick only and no turn signals. But know, my old ass is thinking....electric start is nice.

Yeah, I looked at all that and said "no way". I can send you my diagram if you want. I need to make a couple of updates to it first.

Well, the welder went down again. So in order to keep moving, the sand blasting has commenced. There is a bunch of it. I managed to get the rear caliper torn down. Will need new seals and one piston.

SiriusConInc.com has a kit with both pistons and seals at a reasonable price

The only way I have ever finished projects was to keep at it amidst stumbling blocks. So since the welder is down, I went ahead with painting blasted parts. Etch prime, base and clear.

A gentle reminder; if you use the stock controls and handlebars, the metal needs clean metal-to-metal contact even at the top clamp bridge in order to maintain a good ground. So cleaning the underside of the idiot cluster and top clamp where the bars pass thru is recommended. It also insures a proper fit without too much coating build up.

Today I met up with a local CB collector/builder. Purchased a few items from him including neck bearing kit, oil pressure gauge, and updated fuse block. This guy has it all, tons of stuff. Man..... I am sure he will be taking my money. I found a set of wheels from 77 SS for my bike. After pricing a bunch of different options for making the spoked wheels look decent, I pulled the trigger on these mag wheels. I will be able to take them down and powercoat or paint them. I will put the money saved somewhere more important. I really like the look of the wheels on this bike.

Hold onto that rear SS hub. Many people with spoked drum rears wanting to upgrade to a disc, and they can easily relace a wheel.

Bud, they are to put into intake boots when I soda blast the motor.

I cut and drilled the gussets today. The welder is back. Taking some time between Christmas and New Years to finalize frame and get to blaster.

Can anyone confirm the year of this front caliper sitting in the beer tray? 75K? The one that came with bike is shot. I fired up my PM caliper to push out pistons. Worked pretty slick.

Caliper is 73-76 if it came on that bracket..
Your gussets look like they may be quite thick... If they are more than 1/16 ” thick, they are just extra weight...plus there is a tendency for vibrations to concentrate near the bracket if you use overly thick material. Plus its harder to bell the holes..

Thank you for the link. I will keep your services in mind. This afternoon I made the spacer between the tank and tail section. .080 aluminum with flanged holes. My wife calls it the nut cooler panel.
