Watching wrinkle paint dry.     I also finished up side covers and stainless mesh inserts.

Took the rocker box.  Blasted then painted it.  I will file down the embossing after it is all cured nicely.  This wrinkly stuff will take several days.

I will when the paint is cured.  I scraped off the excess with a blade to make the job a bit easier when the time comes.  I will also block sand the ribs and SOHC 750 markings on valve cover.

The side covers turned out great!

Pale is the seat just fastened to the frame rails? Did you just drill and tap the frame? Also...how will you secure the upholstery and padding to the base?

Yes Sir,  The tail section is bolted to the frame.  I welded two flanged nuts to the top of frame just behind the rear of tank.  That is how the front of tail mounts.  The rear bolts pass through the rear cross member of the frame where the existing mounts for batter and tool box mount toward rear of bike.  I am debating on a couple different approaches on the seat.  I am considering making a fiberglass pan that will lock into place over the bolts that hold the tail section into place. I have also considered simply using Velcro to secure seat to tail section.  That will be about the last thing I get into, I believe.   I am certainly open to ideas though.  :)

At some point I'd really like to try to learn to work with fiberglass and make a solo seat and fenders (from carbon for the fenders). I do not want to cut the frame and install a hoop though. I hate the way the back of the frame looks but notching out the seat base on the sides like you did around the top of the shock would help lower the base and cover up the uglier part of the frame. If you did a fiberglass pan, would it have holes in it for the heads of the fasteners to stick up through a bit? I would think it would have to. Also...if you just went with velcro would you feel the fastener heads through the foam or is that not a concern? And just to be clear, I am not critiquing but merely asking questions out of ignorance.

I'm using magnets to hold my seat in place.  I made a steel seat pan and the magnets are screwed in place into the wooden tail section.  There's also three alignment pins so it won't move around.

On no problem.  I enjoy the conversation.  It depends really.  I may use button heads to secure the tail section to the frame. That profile wont be an issue.  I suspect that the hex heads wont be an issue either.  I can get bolt covers and use those as a round index inside the glass seat pan.  They would be more than enough to index the seat to stay in place.  But I like Bud's magnet idea.  I can mount the magnets in the recess of the fiberglass seat pan so that they make contact with the tail section mounting bolts.  That way it will come off easy when needed.

This looks absolutely killer! And it will be even better on top of the wrinkle head/cylinders.
