The bottom bolt you are trying to remove is attached to a rod internally. Without the springs compressing it, the rod will turn with the bolt. Jamming a broomstick handle wedges the rod to allow the bolt to be removed now that you're disassembled.

I like the holes in the side covers. Reminiscent of the Thruxton side covers. Are you going to line them with any material (mesh)?
