Put springs an caps back in , or use broomstick..or impact wrench with 6mm ? Allen socket.

The bottom bolt you are trying to remove is attached to a rod internally. Without the springs compressing it, the rod will turn with the bolt. Jamming a broomstick handle wedges the rod to allow the bolt to be removed now that you're disassembled.

Got it guys thanks. I tried it first with the springs and no go.   I tapered down a broom stick and attached sticky back 80gt to it to lock it up.  I found the thread in the tech section.

I dropped the frame off at sandblasters today. Get it back next week.  Finished up painting the little stuff that will be black.  Also ordered new fork tubes today.   The original tubes had some bad rust pitting, especially under the lower fork triple tree.

Oh ya.  It is high quality German polyurethane base/clear system. Spies Hecker paint system. High UV resistance.

I like the holes in the side covers.  Reminiscent of the Thruxton side covers.  Are you going to line them with any material (mesh)?

Yes sir.  I have some nice stainless mesh going in behind.

The first of my colors is down on all the sheet metal.  I will start laying out graphics and other colors this week.

What you are seeing is just the base coat.  It has a bit of shine to it, but not nearly as much when clear is on it.

I am masking off stripes that will remain black. The rest will be silver flake and charcoal gray with red accents.

This morning I started with the silver and finally the big flake.  Should see me on the streets pretty easily.

Painted side badges from K model.  Removed the pins and will use double sided trim tape to bond to tank after paint is finished.

   I wouldn't have a problem with that.  I just do not want people to think that I came here to recruit work.  I love these old bikes, that's why I am here.

Yes.  I am a professional painter/artist.  I also build guitars as side business.  Most of my work is paint and art. This bike will be a bit of a mobile business card for me.
