It was the number on my football jersey in HS and college.  My birthday is 3-17.   3x17 is 51.   And it is also my age.

This is my winter racers.   Vintage ovals.  51 one had not been taken on the circuit, so I ran it.   :)

Cool, I love snowmobiles!  Is that an Arctic Cat?  My buddy had an El Tigre, that sled was fast!

The top on is a John Deere 440 Liquifier...The bottom one is a Arctic Cat Pantera Free Air 500.

Oh ya.  They were quite popular in the 70s.  A variety of models with different performance levels.  They excelled in the cross country events.  Mine was extensively modified for flat ice track.

We had one here..for hillclimb....
Blown Kawi dragbike motor, hilborn injection..  Crazy. Kid that built it...
It is called X Rated or Rated X...its on Youtube

Gotta be a huge rush topping  a hillclimb at 90 or 100mph, and getting 50 feet of air...

Installed the All Balls racing bearing conversion.  Cleaned all necessary contact areas for ground.   Polished all hardware.  Replaced what needed to be.  Threw the trees together.

Looking good.  I drilled a hole in the bottom of my headlight housing and ran a small bolt through it to use as a grounding lug for all the forward circuits and then ran a wire to the frame under the tank.

Nah...Most of this stuff is going to come off.  Sheetmetal, front end, side covers will be coming off when putting motor in.  I am about as far as I am going to go until motor is ready.  I want to lay motor on it's side and drop frame over.  The tubes are just in the trees just to balance out the weight.  Not in permanently.  I will do the wiring after motor is in.

Edit.  But if the blasting media and VHT stuff doesn't show up soon...I will be wiring.   :)

Holy moly.    50 lbs of soda bicarbonate to blast down the motor.  I looked like Al Pacino in Scarface when I was done.   No photos.  Too incriminating.
