Lost parts
« on: November 06, 2016, 01:02:03 PM »
Hi everyone,I feel bad not contributing to posts etc and just being a lurker, but now I'm looking for help.
I'm starting to put my '77 400 motor back together and have a problem.I stripped it totally last year and had it vapour blasted and it looks great.I have now realised that one of the half moon 'c' clips that go in the crankcases to stop the gear shafts moving is missing.I must have left it in the case and not noticed .They are no longer available. The stupid thing is the guy I got the bike from gave me another totally torn down motor all labeled and in boxes. No clips!!
Does anyone out there have one I can buy from them???

I was given a '74 CB550 a few weeks ago that has been in a guys garage for near 20yrs.I think it can be cleaned up with not too much effort and put back on the road. The problem is the keys are long lost. The number on the ignition lock is T4546.Any thoughts where I can get one?I'm assuming the dealer won't be able to help but haven't tried yet.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Charlie

For your lost key issue.
I went to a locksmith and had a new key cut for $15; it helps if you can just bring them the ignition.

I ordered a few NOS Honda keys from a seller on eBay. Seller ID is dgs38 and they were shipped super fast and work nicely.

Hondakeys.com is I think the guy I used, very helpful and good service. I have bought keys from him for several bikes.

+1 on Mark Troxell at Hondakeys.com. He will in all likelihood have your key.
