750 k3 Left hand switch wiring
« on: November 10, 2016, 05:13:12 PM »
Small wire pulled out of switch which controls turn signals.  I have no pictures yet and have not opened switch yet, but is it possible that some wires go through handle bar and turn signals only come out of end of switch? Size of wire seems too small to have all the wires that I see on replacement switches on ebay. I also cannot find a pic or drawing of inside of switch. I'd like to try to patch wire and keep original "gray" switch rather than replace with a mismatched shiny black repro switch.

Any shared knowledge appreciated. Thanks.

as far as I remember, all 11 wires go thru bars to inside of headlite housing, (on a stock bike) where they all connect to like colored wires in the main harness etc.

I am in the process of wiring exactly this. Yes all 11 wires run through the bars. What color is the wire you pulled loose?

Lt green- Horn. O/w-left marker LtBlue/W-right marker, O-left turn, LtBlue-right turn, grey-blinker wire, Dark blue-headlight (high) white-headlight (low) green-ground......Unsure of others as my controls are after market. You may have a Brown/W and a Brown/Blue- turn buzzer

Away from the bike until Monday but will get some pics when I get back to it. The small wire/black cable that pulled out had a small pin at the end, a spring around it, surrounded by 2 small metal inward facing brass clamps or contacts, if that makes sense. Still have not opened the switch but I'm wondering if that pin broke off and was maybe a contact pin of some kind. I have not pulled any of the wires yet.

Sorry to only have partial info still.

That sounds like the starter motor safety switch wire.
